Week 6- Election Post

Final week of the project and time for predictions...

Presidential Election

I think Obama is definitely going to win. The majority of Americans are sick of the Republican party and eight years has been enough. Right now we need to focus more on our internal problems and fixing the economy and that is what Obama plans to do. I'm not sure but I'd say he'd win by at least 318 electoral votes and at least 52% of the popular votes.

Senate Race

It's kind of obvious that Warner is going to win. He's been ahead by double digits and he seems more like leader material.

House Races

10th- I think Wolf is going to win. I'm really not sure why because I haven't been paying attention to this race. But from canvassing, it seems that no one really likes Feder.

11th- Connolly is going to win? I'm not sure because I definitely haven't heard anything about this race. I just found out that Democrats are ahead so Connolly is probably going to win.

Service Hours Blog #3

I'm not really sure what to write for this blog because Jessica and I only had two runs to finish our hours. But overall, this project wasn't too bad. It was easier than I thought it was going to be but it got really tedious. I learned that a lot of people can be jerks when it comes to politics, but then again, that's common. From what we've seen, a lot of people in our area are voting for Obama. We'll see after today who wins the popular vote.

Here are the pictures!

Me with one of the pieces of lit we had to hand out.

You can't really tell but I was soaked.

And so was Jess.

Service Hours Blog #2

Yesterday, Jessica F. and I went canvassing again for Obama to finish up our hours. All we had to do was hang door-hangers so we had a lot more houses to visit than before. The door-hangers just reminded people to vote today so there really wasn't much to learn from them. It wasn't raining so it wasn't too bad. The only downfall was using up a quarter tank of gas just to get to every neighborhood we needed to. My neighborhood was the first neighborhood we needed to go to. There was this other weird lady who was also campaigning for Obama. She said she was part of the union and asked us who we were and for the rest of the time we spent in the neighborhood, she was following us. It was weird. Anyway, by the forth hour of canvassing we were pretty much dying of boredom and hunger. There were also a few times when the neighbor's dogs tried to attack us. Overall, we're just glad that we got our hours done with. Go Obama!
