Political Cartoon #3

This week's political cartoon shows George W. Bush as a cat on a fence with a lot of shoes falling down on him. This represents the shoe-throwing incident that occurred during a news conference in Iraq. He was signing an agreement with Prime Minister Nouri Maliki when Iraqi journalist Muntadar Al-Zaidi took off his shoe and chucked in at the President yelling "this is a good-bye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog!" Bush managed to dodge the shoe, then he took off his other shoe and chucked that at Bush, this time yelling "this is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq!" Again, he dodged it, and it wasn't very long before Muntadar was tackled to the ground by security. President Bush joked that it was a size 10 shoe afterwards. I think that it was a little out of line to go that far during a international conference meeting but I have to admit, I was entertained and a little disappointed that he missed...twice.

Political Cartoon #2

This week's political cartoon represents the recent news about the Governor of Illinois. Apparently he tried to sell Obama's senate seat on Ebay and got arrested for that. Nice. The cartoon shows a father and his son Christmas shopping and he actually managed to buy the Senate seat. They also pass by a newspaper vending machine where the arrest is the headline. Overall, I think this whole thing is stupid and shows just how greedy politicians can be.

Political Cartoon #1

In this political cartoon, it shows George W. Bush serving a burnt turkey to Barack Obama on Thanksgiving. Basically, we are supposed to cut out those words at the bottom and stick them on the turkey. This is supposed to symbolize how George W. Bush has messed up badly while running our country. The deficit, auto industry, banks, economy, Constitution, our reputation, Pakistan, Iraq, stock market, and environment have all been "burnt" by his poor leadership and bad judgement. I'm curious to see how things will turn out after Obama gets inaugurated.
